To those who are caring for foreigners who are not native speakers of Japanese

The proportion of foreign residents in Chiba City is increasing year by year.
Additionally, there are some citizens who have Japanese nationality but for whom Japanese is not their first language.
Chiba City aims to create a city where all citizens with diverse linguistic and cultural backgrounds can live safely and securely.
For citizens with foreign connections (foreign citizens and Japanese citizens who have Japanese nationality but whose first language is not Japanese), being able to communicate in Japanese will make their lives safer and more secure, and will also give them more opportunities to utilize their abilities.

Please learn about the multiculturalism of the region and the "language barrier." Also, if you know anyone who feels uncomfortable with the Japanese language, please let them know about the benefits of learning Japanese and where they can study.

This leaflet introduces some of the experiences of "people who learned Japanese in Chiba City" and "children with parents of foreign origins." It also explains the benefits of being able to speak Japanese.
