Eligible persons

Those who are either resident in Chiba City (those who live in Chiba City), employed in Chiba City (those who work for a company in Chiba City), or enrolled in Chiba City (those who attend school in Chiba City) and have a valid residence card

How to start on-demand Japanese language learning

In order to participate in on-demand Japanese language learning, you must register as an on-demand Japanese language learner.
Once your identity has been verified, your registration as a Japanese language learner will be complete.

How to verify your identity when registering as an on-demand Japanese language learner

Identity verification will be done online (Zoom) or at the Chiba City International Association office.
The person who registered must bring their residence card (which must be valid).

We will check that the information on your residence card matches the information you entered into the on-demand Japanese language learner registration.

If you live outside of Chiba City but work or study in Chiba City, please prepare something that can verify your work or study status in addition to your residence card.
Example: Employee ID card, student ID card

If you are a Japanese national, please prepare documents issued by a government agency that can verify your name, address, date of birth, etc.
Examples: My Number Card, driver's license

When verifying your identity online (Zoom)

The days you can verify your identity online are as follows:
When registering as an on-demand Japanese language learner, please select the date on which you would like to undergo identity verification.
You will receive an email from the Chiba City International Association with Zoom information for online identity verification, so please access the email using Zoom on the scheduled day.

If you do not know how to use Zoom, please go to the Chiba City International Association office to verify your identity.

When verifying your identity at the Chiba City International Association counter

Please bring your residence card and other documents to the Chiba City International Association during opening hours.

How to participate in on-demand Japanese language learning classes

Schooling is on-demand and is available to Japanese language learners (18 years of age and older).

We will send an information email to those who are taking on-demand Japanese language learning.
You can choose the day you want to attend from the school schedule.
